Relational Loop Theory and Causal Mediation Principle
As I was building my framework, two ideas emerged: Relational Loop Theory and the Causal Mediation Principle.
Relational Loop Theory (RLT) explains what happens when we interact with each other or with the world. Individual causal chains don’t operate in isolation. They collide, overlap, and form a third, relational chain that belongs to neither party alone.
Causal Mediation Principle (CMP) explains what happens when we interfere with other people or systems. It distinguishes between mediated and unmediated causal chains, and shows how intervention alters outcomes in ways we rarely anticipate.
On their own, each concept is incomplete.
They only make sense together.
My new short read, Relational Loop Theory and Causal Mediation Principle: Why They Need Each Other to Make Sense, lays out the causal structure behind both RLT and CMP, and shows how they appear in everyday life.
Human relationships are complicated at the best of times.
Understanding structure is how we learn to meet them clearly.
